Flower Moon
Hi there! I hope you caught a glimpse of yesterday's lovely full moon. This month, it was the "Flower Moon," and it hit its peak brightness around 12:56 p.m. Eastern Time today. But the cool thing is, it'll still look completely full in the sky tonight.
Interestingly, the name "Flower Moon" comes from the fact that May is when tons of flowers bloom all over North America, according to sources like the Old Farmer's Almanac. It makes a lot of sense when you think about it, right?
Thinking more broadly, the May moon is often seen as representing growth and the renewal of nature. It's a time when things are generally warming up, which is great for animals having their young, and we're usually past the threat of those late frosts. All of that really contributes to why we see so many plants blooming right now. Pretty neat how it all connects!
